  1. Pick up your TOPIC I stack of notes.
  2. Spread them out then arrange them so they make sense.
  3. Beginning with a 1, number all your TOPIC I notes in the circles.
  4. On your Topic Outline write your TOPIC I note numbers in the bubble for TOPIC I.
  5. Turn your TOPIC I notes faced down.
  6. In your TOPIC II bubble write the next note number.
  7. Pick up your TOPIC II stack of notes.
  8. Arrange them, and continue numbering them.
  9. In your Topic Outline bubbles write the last TOPIC II number and the first TOPIC III number.
  10. Turn your TOPIC II note stack faced down, and criss-cross it over your TOPIC I note stack.
  11. Arrange and number your TOPIC III notes.
  12. On your Topic Outline write the last number in the TOPIC III bubble.
  13. Turn your TOPIC III notes faced down, and criss-cross them over your TOPIC II notes.
  14. If you have a TOPIC IV, V, or VI, continue numbering and criss-crossing your note stacks.
