- You are now ready to sort your notes into groups.
- To do this: Hold your whole stack of notes in one hand.
- With your free hand, set your first note on your desk.
- Hold your 2nd note next to your 1st note.
- Read both notes, and ask, “Related or unrelated?”
- If the two notes are unrelated, set your 2nd note on the desk next to your first note.
- If they are related, name them with their related TOPIC name.
- Print that TOPIC name on the TOPIC line of both related notes.
- Hold the 3rd note next to the 1st. Ask,“Related or unrelated?”
- Then hold that same 3rd note next to the 2nd note and again ask, “Related or unrelated?”
- If your 3rd note is related to your 1st or 2nd note, name both notes with their related TOPIC name.
- Print that TOPIC name on the TOPIC line of both related notes.
- Read all your notes, one at a time.
- Hold each note next to each stack, and ask, "Related or unrelated?"
- Try to group each note with related notes.
