  • I held two notes, side by side, and asked, “Related or unrelated?”
  • When my notes were related, I named them with a TOPIC.
  • I stacked them together and printed that TOPIC name on the TOPIC line of both notes.
  • When the notes were unrelated, I set them apart on my desk.
  • Both notes might begin a new stack.
  • My first few loon notes grouped into two TOPICS: Family and Homes.
  • My Food note will be alone.
  • It might stay alone, or it might be joined by notes that go with it.
  • After all notes were grouped, my food note was still alone.
  • I decided to keep it for my report.
