Think of Reasons - Example

I read my note, “fly south for the winter,” and I added, “FOR WHAT REASON?”

  • I thought of loons needing open water for food, and I thought of northern lakes, covered with ice each winter.
  • I marked a large X next to the REASON question on my card.
  • I set this card aside to begin a stack of notes that will have a large X  after REASON.
  • I will soon choose a few REASONS from my stack, and I will write those chosen REASONS on the cards.
  • If I stack the X’s now, I can quickly find them when I need them.

My REASONS:          • must make sense      • must be true      • must not be silly.
