  1. Pick up a new note card.
  2. On the Source line write your book title’s initials.
  3. Read the book.
  4. Find the first key idea about your subject.
  5. Write that one key idea under NOTE on your first card.

CAUTION: Write ONLY the key idea without writing a sentence.
